General Requirements
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Trakia University seeks students with working knowledge of English, and strong motivation to study and practice veterinary medicine. Letters of recommendation can also be enclosed. The entrance is according Bulgarian requirements for foreign students.
Application Requirements
All foreign citizens who have a diploma for completed secondary education are eligible for studying veterinary medicine at the FVM Stara Zagora.
А. For full period of study (five and a half years)
1. A completed application form or a letter of application containing a brief CV and specifying the degree program which is being applied for. The proficiency of the applicant in English must be explicitly specified.
2. Foreign citizens applying for the full period of study are required to submit a certified translation of their Diploma for completed secondary education including a supplement specifying their attendance record and grades, accompanied by the full academic record.
3. A document issued by a competent body certifying the applicant's eligibility to continue his studies in higher educational institutions in the country in which the applicant has completed secondary education.
4. All applicants are required to submit a medical certificate issued no earlier than a month before the application procedure, and validated by the respective authorities in the applicant's country.*
5. All applicants are required to submit a photocopy of their identity card(s) or passport(s) with the name legibly written in the Latin alphabet, the place and date of birth.
6. Four recent photographs.
B. Transfer from other Universities:**
Foreign citizens applying for a part of the full period of study must submit all the documents described above and an academic record (transcript).
*The Diploma and the medical certificate must be legalized, translated into Bulgarian and validated in accordance with the provisions contained in the intergovernmental agreements between the Republic of Bulgaria and the country in which these documents were issued. If no such agreements exist, the documents have to be legalized, translated and validated according to the standard procedure for the legalization, translation and validation of documents and other official papers.
**For persons graduated or studied in universities in biology, zootechnics, agronomy, medicine etc. Periods of study and exams taken will be recognized in some conditions.
Deadlines and Fees
Application form and all supporting documents should be presented between April 4th and July 30th 2011.
In case of vacancies further applications are also welcome until mid-September.
The tuition fee is 5000 EUR.
The students can pay the fees in two equal installments at the beginning of each semester. Persons with double citizenship, one of which Bulgarian, pay half of the amount set for foreign citizens, if they have been admitted in accordance with the requirements established for foreign citizens.
